In 2022, the home’s improvement journey began with a few important upgrades that laid the groundwork for future transformations. A fresh light fixture was installed in the hallway/entryway to brighten the space, while new plantation shutters added both charm and functionality. Essential maintenance was also tackled with repairs to the garage roof, along with the addition of outdoor outlets for convenience and versatility.
By 2023, attention turned to both curb appeal and long-term durability. The main house roof was repaired, ensuring the home’s structural integrity. At the same time, the front yard was given a complete makeover: the lawn was fully abated and replaced with a thoughtfully designed drought-tolerant landscape, creating a more sustainable and attractive outdoor space.
The most significant wave of updates came in 2025, transforming both the interior and exterior. Inside, the home was refreshed with a full repaint of walls, doors, ceilings, trim, and baseboards (excluding the kitchen walls and ceiling). Several interior light fixtures were replaced, a new wireless doorbell and chime were installed, and the fireplace was modernized by removing the insert and painting the surround and interior with heat-resistant paint. On the exterior, the entry porch tile was regrouted, new light fixtures were added, and the front door, driveway gate, and side porch were sanded, repainted, and detailed with fresh touch-ups. An AC condenser cover was also installed for added protection.
Perhaps the most dramatic transformation was the garage conversion in 2025. The space was reimagined with a new 72x80 sliding glass door and window overlooking the backyard, R-15 insulation, fresh drywall, and luxury vinyl plank flooring. A separate storage area was created, electrical upgrades brought in two new circuits, additional outlets, lighting, and sconces, making the garage both functional and versatile. Finally, the landscaping tied it all together with a 28x28 compacted decomposed granite entertaining area, decorative desert gold rocks, fresh fir bark mulch, polymer sand between pavers, new plantings, and ongoing shaping of existing trees and greenery.
